STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS is based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise. The series features fan favorites from Season Two of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY: Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock. The series follows Captain Pike and the crew in the decade before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.

Paramount has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the second season of the excellent 'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

This UHD shares identical design aesthetics with the companion Blu-ray SteelBook (minus a change to accommodate four discs rather than the
three included
here). The glossy front panel depicts Captain Pike, in uniform, against an amber-orange background into which he somewhat blends. There's also a
sense of slight blurring around his right side (the audience's left). The background is mildly metallic. The show's title appears in white standard Star
Trek type. The rear panel depicts the front of the Enterprise's saucer section filling the top third or so of the SteelBook while below is a
colorful planet that shows the full shadow of the Enterprise, just below the center line. The spine is black with the show's title in white, center.
A CBS logo appears at the top.
Inside, the three discs are situated thusly: disc one is on its own hub on the left while discs two and three appear on the right in staggered-stacked
formation. The inner panel is a two-panel spread that depicts most of the key characters from the show, each in their own colorful vertical sliver. There
are ten total. In addition, this set ships with four very heavy-duty character magnets (I received Spock, Uhura, Chappel, and Number One; I do not
know if everyone receives the same characters). Also included is a small, folded poster for "Subspace Rhapsody."

This is a really great looking SteelBook. Aesthetically it's well in line with what fans might expect from Star Trek, with a focus on the characters and the Enterprise. The show is great and the UHD discs are wonderful. Very highly recommended!
