CBS/Paramount and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for the CBS All Access show 'Star Trek: Discovery.' The SteelBook's contents are identical to the four-disc wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section below for more on the SteelBook itself.

Star Trek: Discovery's SteelBook fingerprints easily on the smooth and glossy front and rear sides. The front image features a darkened
Michael Burnahm, illuminated so that a portion of the left side of her face, notably the eye, is visible within the shape of a Federation symbol. The front
is otherwise
black and blank beyond the show's debossed title (the words "Season One" are not debossed or embossed). The rear side is equally tasteful and
simple,
featuring the USS Discovery from a bottom view, the ship flying towards the top of the SteelBook. The saucer section and part of the hull
appear in front of a large planet. Another may be seen bottom-right. A sun peeks out from behind the larger planet. Small, unobtrusive text appears at
the bottom. The spine maintains the black color scheme. The show's title is center in the same color scheme from the front of the case. At the top
appears a CBS Blu-ray logo and at the bottom are Blu-ray disc and Paramount logos.
No DVD or digital copies are included which means the entire inner area is dedicated to housing the four Blu-ray discs. Each is situated on its own tab;
there's no disc stacking here. Discs one and four are situated on either side of the case while discs three and four are housed on either side of a middle
flap. Disc
removal and insertion are easy and the discs are firmly held in place when inside. The inner print features a two-panel spread depicting
Discovery hurtling through
space at high speed, a bright light illuminating it from behind and lightening the colors around the ship, which give away to black at the fringes of each
corner.

Paramount/CBS and Best Buy's store exclusive SteelBook release of Star Trek: Discovery - Season One is a handsome alternative to the wide release art. Though it will fingerprint, the artwork both inside and outside is beautifully simplistic and the show is fantastic. Video and audio qualities are good enough, generally, and the included extras are well worth any Trek fan's time. Very highly recommended.
