Paramount has released a ten-film, 12-cut, and 12-disc collection of the ten The Original Series and Next Generation 'Star Trek' films. The list of included films is below. These are Blu-ray only, but they are all the remastered Blu-rays rather than the original releases from many years ago. At time of writing, there is no parallel-type release with UHD versions of the films, at least not bundled together at a value price (for the is Original Series films bundled on UHD, please click here; for the TNG films bundled on the UHD format, please click here). Nevertheless, this is a high value proposition for fans who own none or only a few of these films. See below for a list of what's included and a few real-world packaging photographs.

All of the soundtracks for the Original Series films are recycled from the 2009 Blu-ray boxed set release. Please click here for full coverage. The lone
exception is the Director's Edition of The Motion Picture, which has received a Dolby Atmos soundtrack. Please click here for a review.

tracks from the TNG films, please click the links below:

The packaging is standard for Paramount's many multi-disc sets, whether in the Star Trek universe or otherwise. It's the big, oversized clear
case with the discs staggered-stacked on their own hubs. There are few enough discs that there is no disc stacking on each hub. It's pretty basic. Disc
artwork is all very basic, too. The exterior packaging features a very nice picture of the Enterprise-A (my all-time favorite design) warping
through
space. The back panel is really busy with all sorts of tech specs and special features listings for each film.

I have to admit that, at first glance, I balked at this release. Why does it exist? Why not a UHD collection? (though I am about 95% certain that will materialize at some point, because Star Trek and because Paramount). But the more I look at it, this is a serious value proposition. At time of writing, the set is going for about $48, or $4.80 per film and $4 per disc for the remastered Blu-rays, two versions of The Motion Picture and The Wrath of Khan, tons of extras...oh, and fresh digital copies of each film, too. So, yeah. It might be superfluous for Trekkies who already own all of this, but for casuals, newcomers, whatevers...this is a really good value. Highly recommended!
