Robert Rodriguez is certainly one of the more eclectic writer-directors out there, but one of his most interesting contributions have been his repeated attempts to reboot 3D moviemaking when it wasn’t exactly in fashion. Both of these films were released in the old “red-cyan” anaglyph process, and have now been converted to the newer stereoscopic 3D process for this new two-fer release. This is a fun set of movies that really exploits 3D technology (maybe even a bit too much). Viewers who couldn't handle the anaglyph versions of these may want to revisit them, though some of the 3D effects are still eye boggling. Recommended.
