This 2013 boxed set of the Tobey Maguire 'Spider-Man' trilogy contains all three discs from the 2012 individual releases ('Spider-Man,' 'Spider-Man 2,' 'Spider-Man 3') but also adds a fourth disc full of bonus content from 'Spider-Man 3' that Sony originally made available in the 2007 boxed set. Spider-Man Trilogy Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras 

Spider-Man Trilogy contains four discs, the first three identical to the 2012 individual releases (not the original boxed set) and also includes a fourth bonus disc that was not part of the 2012 wave. That disc is broken down into two categories: Featurettes and Ad Campaign. Below is a breakdown of what's included. Note that these disc four extras WERE included in the 2007 release, just not the 2012 re-release. A digital copy voucher is included with purchase. As for the packaging, this set comes housed in a slim DigiBook-style presentation with attractive artwork along the four interior panels and a red background with webbing and the Spider-Man logo on the outside. The discs are difficult, if not impossible, to remove from the sleeves without fingerprinting the edges.

• Grains of Sand: Building Sandman (1080i, 13:51): A closer look at the character, including origins with Stan Lee and bringing the character to the screen for Spider-Man 3, Thomas Haden Church's performance, visual effects and character design, and much more.
• Re-Imagining The Goblin (1080i, 10:37): A discussion of Harry Osborn's character evolution through the series and into this film and a deeper look at the "new" Green Goblin character, including costuming, props, and special effects.
• Covered in Black: Creating Venom (1080i, 15:36): Much like the previous pieces, this extra looks at the character's history and bringing him to the screen, including, again, technical qualities necessary for the task.
• Hanging On...Gwen Stacy and the Collapsing Floor (1080i, 10:14): Crafting one of the film's most ambitious visual effects sequences.
• Fighting, Flying and Driving: The Stunts (1080i, 19:00): A more broadly selective supplement that explores some of the more basic action stunts scattered throughout the film.
• Tangled Web: The Love Triangles of Spider-Man 3 (1080i, 9:14): As the title suggests, this piece focuses in on the relationships between Peter Parker, Mary Jane, and Gwen Stacy, with a couple of other mentions thrown in as well.
• Wall of Water (1080i, 7:21): Behind the scenes of making one of the movie's key action shots.
• Inside the Editing Room (1080i, 3:59): An all-too-brief look at the editing process.
• The Science of Sound (With Optimized Audio) (1080i, 16:22): An inspection of the key role sound and music play in the film with some interesting insight into how the team puts the film's soundtrack together. Sadly "optimized audio" means only lossy Dolby Digital 5.1.
• New York -- From Rooftops to Backstreets (1080i, 12:55): A big supplement that looks at the big role that the Big Apple plays in a big Superhero film.
• Cleveland -- The Chase on Euclid Avenue (1080i, 6:47): A look at how the Ohio city stood in for New York during a key action sequence.
• Teaser (1080p, 1:39).

Spider-Man Trilogy Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation 

This four-disc set of the Spider-Man trilogy improves on both the 2007 boxed set and the 2012 individual releases by adding extras to Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 that where missing from the 2007 set and including the 2007 Spider-Man 3 extras that were included in 2007 but missing from the 2012 individual release. Recommended for those who don't wish to pick up the films in the 4K sets, either the Best Buy exclusive Steelbook presentation or the Digibook release.
