Paramount has widely released a SteelBook packaging variant for Writer John Hughes and Director Howard Deutch's 1987 film 'Some Kind of Wonderful.' The disc is identical to that found in the wide release which, at time of writing, is only available in a five film John Hughes collection. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Paramount's glossy smooth SteelBook will show handling fingerprints in the black areas, which are many on the front and rear panels. The front
panel
depicts the three main characters in something of a comic book art style. Lea Thompson's Amanda Jones and Eric Stoltz's Keith Nelson appear
standing
on the left, the former facing sideways
towards the left and the latter facing forward with his arms crossed against his chest. They are in reversely colored wardrobe; she's in a denim top
and a
black skirt; he's wearing a black shirt and jeans. Mary Stuart Masterson's Watts is seated, center, holding drumsticks. Her jeans are rolled up to her
knees. She's wearing a dark jacket with a white shirt underneath. The film's title appears top right. The words "Some Kind of" are printed in white
block letters,
"of" is thinner than the others, and "Wonderful" has been handwritten in dripping blue paint. The rear panel features the quote "you look good
wearing
my future" center. All but "Future" are in white letters; "future" has been written by hand in the dripping blue paint. The words are framed by large
white quotation marks. There are white paint splatters scattered around the panel. A pair of diamond earrings appear next to the text. A white
Paramount logo and some legalese appear bottom left and a model number bottom right. The spine is black with the film's title center, exactly as it
appears on the front. The only difference is that "wonderful" is now in white. A white Paramount logo has been placed at the top and a white Blu-ray
logo at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The lone Blu-ray disc is situated on its own right hand side center hub. The
inner print is a two-panel spread that features an attractive and professionally lit and staged black and white main cast photo. On the left panel are
Keith and Amanda. On the right is Watts.

Paramount's Some Kind of Wonderful SteelBook is a joy. The presentation is simple but attractive on the front and the inside panel is gorgeous. The picture and sound qualities are good and the movie is another Hughes 80s treasure. Highly recommended.
