Universal and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for Director Joe Carnahan's 2006 film 'Smokin' Aces.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the 2010 wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Universal's SteelBook is not fully matte, but neither is it fully glossy; it will not display handling fingerprints. The font panel is made to look like a
playing
card with the title split along the top left and bottom right. Curiously the Ace "A" and the Ace of Spades itself are rotated upside down bottom right but
the film title text remains upright. In the middle is a larger black Ace of Spades with a character collage within it (and sticking out a bit), all shaded in
different
bright, bold colors. A few color splotches are littered around the periphery. The white card background is made to look very worn. The rear panel
features an ornate design that looks like the back of a playing card. It is edged by various weapons. The inside looks like crosshairs; the four card suits
are situated round the crosshairs. The spine carries over the front coloring. The film's title is presented simply in black block letters center. A Universal
logo, which is obscured by the black wear points, appears at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features four panels featuring four primary characters from the film, each panel
vertically divided and identified by a color rather than just a character.

Fans are going to love this SteelBook. It's well designed, colorful in places and made to look like a playing card in others. The film is fine and the UHD is likewise fine. Recommended.
