Sinister Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Jeffrey Kauffman August 15, 2024
Lionsgate is once again partnering with Walmart to provide collectors with a set of SteelBook releases, this time with several linked "Bloody
Disgusting"
titles. All of the SteelBooks have similar designs that feature an emphasis on blacks, which may mean that white gloves may be in order for
fingerprint and/or other smudge protection. In fact, while several of the review SteelBooks sent to me had small blemishes, this one was one of the
more badly damaged, as can be made out in some of the hi res photographs of the packaging I've uploaded to accompany this review.

My original
Sinister Blu-ray review of Lionsgate's wide release
should hopefully provide sufficient plot information and assessment of technical merits, for those interested.

Sinister Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

On disc supplements are detailed in the above linked review. The SteelBook offers a study in black and red, with another study matching several other
covers in this series that feature a larger black and white head or face with an appropriately bloody red insert of another figure.
The back panel features a quote, following the branding of all of these "Bloody Disgusting" SteelBook releases. The interior panels offer a red image on
the left, without much if anything on the right, in contrast with several others that offer a full photograph across both interior panels, mostly in black
and white with red highlights. All of these similarly branded SteelBooks have a J card. A digital copy is also included.
Sinister Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

Of the seven films Lionsgate is releasing with this latest branding effort, Sinister is one of the more interesting titles. Technical merits are
strong, and the supplemental package was also nicely appointed even without the addition of the SteelBook. That said, SteelBook collectors tend to be
a finicky lot, and the decision to brand these in dark black may make them more prone to showing defects. With caveats noted,
Recommended.
