Shooter Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Martin Liebman February 10, 2021
Paramount has released a SteelBook packaging variant for the 2007 film 'Shooter.' The disc is identical to that found in the 2007 wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for
more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Shooter Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

Shooter's SteelBook is finished with a matte texture that will not slide around in the hand or show handling fingerprints. Gray is the dominant
color front and back. The front panel contrasts the light gray with a very dark gray and black image of Mark Wahlberg's Bob Lee Swagger facing
forward, his sniper rifle pointed down but at a quick-ready position. He's wearing a vest and tattered clothes. What looks like some fire embers dance in
front of him, offering the only color on the front panel. The film's title runs vertically along the left hand side in big gray letters. Wahlberg's name
accompanies it.
The rear panel features the same background color. The main feature here is a text quote, center: "I didn't start it but I mean to see it through." A
Paramount logo, a model number, and a copyright notice appear bottom right. The spine carries over the same light gray background. The film's title
appears center in a dark gray color. A Paramount logo has been placed at the top. DVD and Blu-ray logos can be found at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one Blu-ray and one DVD, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a black background with more of those red embers scattered about.

Shooter Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

Shooter's SteelBook is all about simplicity inside and out. There's very little color and very little visual splash of any kind but it works as it is.
The disc is the same as that released in 2007 but it's still a pretty solid presentation, even as there are some tech spec limitations. Recommended.
