We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson's case, by shouting out one word - SHAZAM! - this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult superhero Shazam.

Warner Brothers and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for Director David F. Sandberg’s breezy fun Superhero film ‘Shazam!’ The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Shazam!'s SteelBook is one of the glossiest and most fingerprint-prone to come along since A Quiet Place; it's slick and smooth and shiny and will leave packaging
enthusiasts wiping it down with regularity. The front cover is a dark red, almost black color along the edges with lighter colored red streaks shooting
down in a diagonal direction, flanking the Shazam costume lightning bolt that is one of the most prominent visuals in the movie. A DC logo is situated
right on top of the bolt; these are usually found on the top left corner. The front is also notable for dropping the comic book art-style SteelBook
presentations for other DCEU titles (and it doesn't really fit in with the more recent wave, either). The rear cover is stylistically similar but replaces the prominent
lightning bolt with a quasi-silhouette image of Shazam, the face and torso largely in shadow but the lighting bolt and white cape (looking more yellow
perhaps due to the backlighting) standing apart. The spine features the film's title in red against a very dark red background. It's situated above center.
At the bottom are DC and Warner Brothers logos.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray (both looking almost entirely
identical), are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features Billy Batson as Shazam and his friend and foster brother, Superhero
expert, and quasi-manager Freddy Freeman sitting on the couch playing some Xbox, probably Mortal Kombat.

Shazam is a fun and carefree Superhero film that blends together Superman, Seven, Hellraiser, Adventures in Babysitting, and Big. It's unique to say the least, a movie that manages to overcome a bland core narrative thanks to the wonderfully breezy and organic character beats and heartfelt feel for family. It's a jolt (or maybe better said bolt) of joy the genre desperately needed. The SteelBook is nice enough if not a bit bland. That it leaves behind the comic book flavor of past DCEU SteelBooks is disappointing, but it still earns a recommendation.
