Meet the fabulously dysfunctional Gallagher family. Dad's a drunk, Mom split long ago, eldest daughter Fiona tries to hold the family together. Eldest son Philip (Lip) trades his physics tutoring skills for sexual favors from neighborhood girls. Middle son Ian is gay. Youngest daughter Debbie is stealing money from her UNICEF collection. Ten-year-old Carl is a budding sociopath and an arsonist, and toddler Liam is - well, he might actually be black, but nobody has a clue how.

Note: Evidently based at least in part on complaints from Blu-ray consumers who wanted a "complete collection" of Shameless, Warner Brothers is finally releasing both Shameless: The Complete Tenth Season and Shameless: The Eleventh and Final Season in standalone sets as well as part of this collection aggregating all of the seasons of the long running series. Reviews for each individual season, including the two newly released tenth and eleventh years, are linked to below.

On disc supplements are detailed in the above linked reviews. This comes packaged with a slipbox enclosing two oversized cases, one with seasons 1 through 7, and the other with seasons 8 through 11. Each case has removable Amaray style flip trays with hinges, and as regular purchasers of these kind of overstuffed collections may have already guessed, the hinge parts had disconnected for several of the flaps in both cases.

I detailed what might be called the evolution of the reprehensible family in American television in my Shameless: The Complete Tenth Season Blu-ray review, and in that regard some of the appeal of Shameless might well be a bit of viewer Schadenfreude, with audiences marveling quietly to themselves, "Wow, even my family isn't this bad!" There's such a sad spiral for Frank in particular that this is often not the easiest watch in the world one way or the other, but performances are genuinely winning and even moving throughout, and the show is typically very smartly written. Technical merits are solid, and while I personally feel things went out with a whimper instead of a bang, on the whole this series comes Recommended.
