Scream 3 4K Blu-ray Movie Review

Reviewed by Martin Liebman October 4, 2023

Paramount has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the 2000 franchise Horror sequel film 'Scream 3.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Scream 3 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras  2.5 of 5

Big red! Paramount's UHD SteelBook release of Scream 3 is blood red front and back. The front panel features the film's title in black, center, (with gray "A Wes Craven film" above in smaller print). Another "3" is present as well, this one filling the full vertical length of the front panel and occupying about the full right-hand side. It's white and has a crudely ripped or torn look to it with the feel of light flowing through it from the back. A blue eye appears within it. On the red rear panel are scrawled the following words in white: "you're not going anywhere, Sidney" appearing at a slight cant. Also on the rear is a picture of the voice disguising box so prevalent in the franchise. The spine is red with the film's title in black, center, and small white Paramount and Miramax logos top and bottom, respectively.

Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The lone UHD disc is situated on the right on a central hub. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a black background against which is a row of chest-up character images strung together with Sidney front-and-center and the others appearing with mild depth behind her to the left and right; it's a very appropriate inner print and reflective of the late 90s/early 2000s Horror advertising scene.

Scream 3 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation  4.0 of 5

This one certainly stands out, and it looks great. It's attention grabbing without being busy, and the inner print is quite nice as a simple reminder of the style of the times. The UHD looks great, too. Recommended.
