Welcome to the world of Rick and Morty, a genius inventor grandfather and his less than genius grandson. Missing for nearly 20 years, Rick arrives at his daughter’s doorstep looking to move in, but her husband isn’t too thrilled. Rick converts the garage into his lab and involves Morty in his insane adventures.

As it has done on a couple of previous occasions with this series, Warner Brothers Home Entertainment is releasing Rick and Morty: Season 6 with both standard and SteelBook packaging. For my thoughts on this season, please consult my Rick and Morty: Season 6 Blu-ray review of the standard edition. This review offers some close-up shots of the SteelBook for collectors.

On disc supplements are detailed in the above linked review. The SteelBook did not come with a digital copy, as some previous seasons have offered. The SteelBook offers a fun set of depictions of the harried Smith family, with Jerry and Morty "pulsating green" on the front, which will become clear after watching this season's opening episode. The inside illustration references the episode homage to John Carpenter, Night Family. An insert repeats the cover illustration along with a listing of episodes and special features on the obverse side.
As is probably clear from my reviews of this series, I unabashedly love Rick and Morty. It's the rare series that can make me laugh out loud each and every episode, but this show does it, seemingly without even trying at times. But what goes hand in hand with the hilarity is the intelligence the episodes so regularly display. This is another standout season with admirable technical merits and appealing supplements, and this SteelBook offers a fun if not especially innovative set of illustrations. Highly recommended.
