Rick and Morty: Season 5 Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Jeffrey Kauffman December 8, 2021
Rick and Morty is back on Blu-ray with its fifth season being offered in both a standard edition and this nicely designed SteelBook.

For my thoughts on this season, a look at screenshots, and a listing of supplements, please consult the

On disc supplements are detailed in the above linked review (and this release also includes a digital copy, as with the standard edition). The SteelBook
packaging is appropriately whimsical and is built around images from the
Mortyplicity episode, which is the season's second episode which I discuss in some detail in the above linked review. The front cover offers one of
the many
versions of the Smith clan that populates that episode, and the kind of "meta Rick" who ultimately shows up in that episode's climax is also at
least alluded to on both the front and back images. The palette is weirdly lurid in this series' "traditional" (?) design aesthetic way, with an emphasis on
reds and purples, though with "meta Rick" kind of looking teal.

This season offered another wonderful grab bag of episodes, and this SteelBook's packaging should certainly appeal to collectors. Highly
recommended.
