This UHD version of Resident Evil: Afterlife differs slightly from Sony's 2017 release. It adds a new featurette and trailers and includes a new menu layout to match the other films in the UHD collection box. The bundled Blu-ray is identical to the 2017 issue. There may be very minor variations to the UHD's video and audio presentations but any alterations are subtle and do not impact the viewing experience one way or the other.
The included screenshots are sourced from a 1080p Blu-ray disc.
This UHD found in the Resident Evil box set appears to be nearly the same, if not identical, as that previously released in 2017. Slight
discrepancies in
bitrate data exist, so it's possible there has been a very slight tweaking one way other. There are certainly no major alterations and if there are any
differences, they make no significant impact on the viewing
experience. Please click here for a full review.
Like the video output there are slight discrepancies in audio bitrate but one would be hard-pressed to notice any differences, if there are any. As through the entire Resident Evil UHD experience, the audio is thunderous yet refined, a pleasure to experience. Please click here for a full review.
Resident Evil: Afterlife's UHD disc includes a new featurette and trailers. The bundled Blu-ray is identical to the 2017 issue and contains
the extras outlined below. Please click here for full coverage.
UHD:
Like many of the Resident Evil films, Afterlife is no cinema classic but it gets the job done as a meat-and-potatoes run-and-gunner. Sony's UHD, which is essentially identical to the 2017 issue, does include a new 22-minute featurette. Recommended.
