Reincarnated as a Sword is an action-adventure anime with a cult fanbase and a dedicated following. The popular cult anime series gained a lot of momentum after it premiered in Japan in 2022. Created by Yuu Tanaka, Reincarnated as a Sword features plenty of exciting sword-play for action fans looking for some adrenaline-packed energetic action to simply chill and relax to. Reincarnated as a Sword features voice-perofrmances by Shinichiro Miki and Ai Kakuma in the leading roles on the series. Reincarnated as a Sword series animation is by C2C (Shangri-La Frontier, Wandering Witch - The Journey of Elaina). 

Sentai Filmworks delivered a Blu-ray release of Reincarnated as a Sword in 2023 and the company now returns with a deluxe and beautifully packaged collectors edition with steelbook packaging. The special edition release is a more impressive release aimed specifically at the collector’s market for anime fans who enjoy the collectible steelbook packaging.

Reincarnated as a Sword: Season 1 Blu-ray Movie, Video Quality 

Released on Blu-ray by Sentai Filmworks, Reincarnated as a Sword is presented in 1080p MPEG-4 AVC encoded high-definition in the television broadcast aspect ratio of 1.78:1 widescreen. The presentation is enormously pleasing with robust clarity and detail in the encoding. The animation is beautifully reproduced and the release capably preserves background animation and line artwork on the set. Preserving the series animation, the release capably showcases the artistry of the series art style. One of the strengths of physical media is the often-superior video encoding. Streaming video services tend to provide lower video bit-rates by comparison.

Reincarnated as a Sword: Season 1 Blu-ray Movie, Audio Quality 

The release includes a selection of lossless audio options: English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 and Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 (with English subtitles). The audio quality is crisp and clear, providing a pleasing lossless fidelity audio experience for fans of the series to enjoy. Dialogue is well reproduced and the soundstage provides the energy needed to showcase the soundstage.

One of the strengths of the Blu-ray format and physical media presentation is the lossless audio encoding. Streaming video services provide only lossy (non-lossless) audio encoding. For home theater enthusiasts and audiophiles seeking the best possible audio experience, the physical media format offers a superior option. The lossless encoding is especially noteworthy for those with expensive home-theater gear and who can get the most out of the higher-resolution audio quality.

The limited collector's edition includes gorgeous collectable packaging. The release comes with a stunning steelbook collectable. The steelbook looks incredible in hand and has a great high-gloss production finish. The finish looks stunning and the high-print quality showcases the vibrancy of the artwork. This is a true premium edition with colorful art against the steel. The steelbook will appeal to steelbook fans who appreciate steelbooks produced at the highest quality level.

Even as one holds the steelbook in hand, the premium finish makes the release stand out as something extra special and well worthwhile for steelbook collectors. The release also comes with an o-card slipcover housed directly over the steelbook. The steelbook slipcover helps provide an extra layer of protection and durability for the release.

The disc art selected for the steelbook collector's edition is also fantastic and something to treasure and behold in hand – sure to delight any serious fan of the series.  The release will look great displayed on a display shelf or steelbook stand. The steelbook art looks fantastic in hand and would look great on a display stand or magnetized steelbook wall display. The steelbook print quality is high-quality and high-end in every sense of the word. Fans may not be able to resist.
