Reign of the Supermen 4K Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Martin Liebman February 19, 2019Warner Brothers and Target have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for the animated Superhero film 'Reign of the Supermen.' The store and studio have previously worked together on various other DC SteelBook releases, such as 'The Death of Superman' and 'Batman: Gotham by Gaslight.' The SteelBook contents are of course identical to the film's wide release UHD. There's also a SteelBook which includes the Blu-ray and DVD. See the 'Special Features and Extras' tab below for more.

Reign of the Supermen 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

This SteelBook is another DC title that shares its front cover artwork with the wide release disc, disappointing in that neither Target nor WB decided it
was worth creating new artwork for the premium packaging or at least making use of existing alternate art. Still, the presentation is attractive enough,
featuring the four "new" Supermen on the front: Superboy, Steel, Cyborg Superman, and Eradicator. The film's title appears in large white, distressed
lettering at the top. A blue DC logo appears top left and blue "DC Universe Movie" text appears above the title. The characters are positioned in front of
an ominous backdrop; a lightning strike can be seen in the background. The rear side presents a full-panel rendering of the same image found on the
back of the wide release. Superman appears flying his rocket. Superboy, Steel, and Eradicator fly behind the ship, which is soaring above the city. The
spine features the film's title in blue block letters against a black background. A Blu-ray logo appears at the top while DC and WB logos appear at the
bottom. The front and back surfaces are glossy and prone to fingerprinting.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand side tabs. The two discs, one Blu-ray and one UHD, are housed on the right,
staggered-stacked. The inner print is a two-panel spread image featuring a tower from Apokolips.

of the film, which is included in this set; the UHD disc contains no extras).
Reign of the Supermen 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

The film is not as good as The Death of Superman, but it makes for a good enough end point to the story. The SteelBook is fine if not a little generic, recycling artwork rather than giving fans something new. This is one SteelBook without great incentive to purchase other than for collection purposes.
