Red Dawn 4K Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Martin Liebman August 22, 2022
Shout! Factor and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for the 1984 film 'Red Dawn.' The disc content is identical to
that found in the UHD wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below
for
more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Red Dawn 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

Shout! Factory's SteelBook for Red Dawn is certainly, well, red. The artwork is pretty standard floating heads-type with main cast --
Swayze, Howell, Thompson, Sheen, and Grey -- filling the top two-thirds. Below them are the full "Wolverines" posed in winter gear bottom right, facing
off against a hodgepodge of enemy military on the left. The film's title appears in an off-white color center bottom; the cast names
appear above in much smaller print. The rear panel features a red tinted sky above a forested areal above which several parachutes are descending
through the sky.
Quite a bit of legalese and studio logos appear at the bottom, filing about 1/5 of the back panel real estate.
Inside, the two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a main cast portrait depicting the armed and winter-clad Wolverines,
posing with their firearms and sitting around a rock formation.

Red Dawn 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

This is not my favorite SteelBook design, but Red Dawn is one of my favorite movies so it goes without saying that I was excited to add it to my
collection, anyway. The UHD content is excellent, even if the 2160p/Dolby Vision color grading is the only thing here that's new. Highly
recommended.
