In this fourth and final season of Rectify we continue to follow Daniel Holden, who was released after 19 years. His forced exile from Georgia provides distance with the rest of the family, both literally and figuratively. Daniel has to learn to stand on his own feet, and finds support with fellow sufferers in a reintegration project in Nashville. And although it is hard for him to get used to a normal life, the exile also makes Daniel unexpectedly acquainted with the positive aspects of himself and of life. He is once again acquainted with friendship and love, and learns to deal with his traumas. In between, life continues in Paulie. Amantha meets an old acquaintance who turns her life upside down, but also has something to conclude with Jon Stern. The relationship problems of Teddy and Tawney continue to persist. And Janet, who finds it difficult to be so far from Daniel, together with Ted Sr. a big decision. And then there is an all-decisive question: what really happened during the night that Hanna Dean was murdered? Jon and Sheriff Daggett are closer to the answer than they think ...
