A rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great French chef despite his family's wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. When fate places Remy in the sewers of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent dangers of being an unlikely — and certainly unwanted — visitor in the kitchen of a fine French restaurant, Remy's passion for cooking soon sets into motion a hilarious and exciting rat race that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down. Remy finds himself torn between his calling and passion in life or returning forever to his previous existence as a rat. He learns the truth about friendship, family and having no choice but to be who he really is, a rat who wants to be a chef.

Disney and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for the 2007 digitally animated Pixar film 'Ratatouille.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Ratatouille has gone red! Disney and Best Buy have crafted a red-dominant glossy and smooth SteelBook for the film which does reflect the
fairly warm color
temperature seen throughout much of the film. The red gives way to a lighter color, almost white with a splattering of red dead-center. The font image
depicts Linguini's heads, from the bottom of the eyes up, with Remy pulling the strings by pulling the hair. Linguini's chef's hat reaches above the
midline. The film's debossed title appears above, as does "Disney Pixar" text and and a debossed chef's hat with a nose and whisker below it. The rear
side is similarly colored and styled but in the center is the lone image, a depiction of the overweight mouse Emile snacking on a hunk of cheese. A
copyright notice and a model number appear at the bottom left and right, respectively. The spine does away with the red color in favor of a blue stripe.
The film's title, along with "Disney Pixar" text, appears center. An UltraHD logo appears at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features Remy using a spatula to flip or remove a tasty treat from a hot pan.
The on-disc supplemental content is identical to included on the original Blu-ray. Please click here for a few thoughts on those extras.
Ratatouille's SteelBook looks nice enough but like so many of the SteelBooks in the September 2019 Disney/Pixar wave there's nothing to be excited about. It's very red and is sure to stand out, especially with the offsetting spine color. The on-disc content is good. Recommended.
