Renowned archeologist and expert in the occult, Dr. Indiana Jones, is hired by the U.S. Government to find the Ark of the Covenant, which is believed to still hold the ten commandments. Unfortunately, agents of Hitler are also after the Ark. Indy and his ex-flame Marion escape from various close scrapes in a quest that takes them from Nepal to Cairo.

Paramount has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the classic 1981 Steven Spielberg Adventure film 'Raiders of the Lost Ark.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release, which was before only available as part of standard packaging and SteelBook four-film 4K sets. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Paramount's glossy-smooth SteelBook features some classic original artwork on the front, with the film's title situated at the top in familiar script and
coloring that has been an influence on Adventure film titles for decades now. Indy is depicted in the center, facing forward, in his familiar
Raiders
costume. He's smiling and cracking his whip. A hodgepodge of secondary and tertiary characters appear around the periphery, and various items and
artifacts, old ruins, and other interesting odds and ends fill the rest of the space. The rear panel is black with a warmly tinted world map center and the
Ark in the very middle, floating above the earth. Some studio logos and legalese appear unobtrusively in the same color at the bottom. The spine is
glossy-black with the film's title center in small print. A Paramount logo has been placed at the top and an UltraHD logo at the bottom, both in the same
color as the back paneling.
Inside, the digital copy code and a fold-open poster are tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The lone UHD disc is situated on the right on a
central
hub. The inner print is a two-panel spread that depicts Sallah and Indiana Jones hoisting up the golden ark, which is seen prominently, center, against a
dark backdrop, representing one of the film's most iconic shots.

It's nice to see Paramount bring back original artwork for this one rather than drop some unattractive floating heads. The rear panel is a little uninspired, but the front is great, as is the interior. The poster is handsome and well worth framing. This SteelBook earns my highest recommendation.
