Andie is an outcast at her Chicago high school, hanging out either with her older boss, who owns the record store where she works, or her quirky classmate Duckie, who has a crush on her. When one of the rich and popular kids at school, Blane, asks Andie out, it seems too good to be true. As Andie starts falling for Blane, she begins to realizes that dating someone from a different social sphere is not easy.

Paramount has widely released a SteelBook packaging variant for Director John Hughes' seminal 1986 film 'Pretty in Pink.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the 'Paramount Presents' wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Paramount's SteelBook is glossy and smooth. Handling fingerprints will be readily evident in the darker areas, which are many. On the front, in front of
a black background, is the film's title filling the top-left quadrant and extending a bit below. The words "Pretty in" are in white block letters and "Pink" in
pink block letters. A comic book styled depiction of Andie Walsh appears across the right hand side filling most of the space. She's looking more or less
straight forward, her head tilted slightly to the right and back. She's wearing a pink top with a black bead necklace. The rear panel holds that same
black background. The text "I just wanted them to know that they didn't break me" is printed in a tight vertical orientation center. The words are in pink
and white blocky quotation marks frame the words stylistically top left and bottom right. A black hat with pink floral trim sits atop the word tower. A
pink Paramount logo and some legalese appear bottom left and a model number bottom right. The spine is pink with the title center. Again the words
"Pretty in" are white but "Pink" is now black. The spine will certainly pop on the shelf. A white Paramount logo has been placed at the top and a white
Blu-ray logo at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The lone Blu-ray disc is situated on the right on a center hub. The inner print
is a two-panel spread that features Molly Ringwald's Andie Walsh sitting at a desk, squarely on the right. She's wearing black with a lacy piece around
the neck. Her right arm is up, elbow resting on the desk, her hand gently propping up her chin. She's looking to the left where a slightly out of focus
clutter of stuff can be seen.

This is great looking SteelBook. The color scheme is excellent, the front artwork is terrific, and the back artwork, while a bit plain, makes a statement (literally). The interior panels are fine. The film is a classic and the Blu-ray quality is first-rate. Highly recommended.
