1987’s “Pretty Peaches 2” is technically a sequel to the 1978 Alex de Renzy adult movie, but the helmer isn’t connecting the dots with this follow-up. It’s more of a thematic continuation, once again retuning to a cartoonish depiction of innocence to explore sexual experimentation and awakening. It’s episodic, but de Renzy certainly has a vision for his title character, creating a strange collection of opportunists and accidents that brings out pleasing mischief during this surprisingly eventful feature.

The AVC encoded image (1.78:1 aspect ratio) presentation captures "Pretty Peaches 2" with appropriate clarity, offering a terrifically bright and detailed viewing experience. Textures are strong here, with costumes keeping fibrous qualities and skin-baring adventures remaining vivid. Set decoration and location visits are also open for inspection. Colors are superbly defined, with crisp and communicative primaries throughout, while skintones are completely natural. Delineation never solidifies, handling dense hair and fabrics well. The source remains fresh and inviting, without obvious points of damage.

The 1.0 DTS-HD MA sound mix emerges with surprising clarity, handling dialogue exchanges to satisfaction, while more primal responses during sex scenes are equally contained, without distortive extremes. Scoring offers passable instrumentation, creating adequate moods that range from comedy to sensuality. Atmospherics are limited but some expanse is presented. Hiss and pops are detected, but never distracting. An isolated incident occurs at the 22:00 mark, where a bout with echoed dialogue pops up briefly.

"Pretty Peaches 2" provides some casual racism and strange bits of physical comedy, but it's a largely active adult movie with a game cast, finding Adams most appealing as the story's questionable voice of parental reason. The helmer isn't coloring outside the lines here, but de Renzy gives "Pretty Peaches 2" pace and a fair amount of sex, hitting highlights with regularity.
