Louis Creed, his wife Rachel and their two children Gage and Ellie move to a rural home where they are welcomed and enlightened about the eerie 'Pet Sematary' located near their home. After the tragedy of their cat being killed by a truck, they resort to burying it in the mysterious pet sematary which is definitely not as it seems as it proves to the Creeds that a pet isn't just for life..

Paramount and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for Directors Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer’s 2019 Horror remake ‘Pet Sematary.’ The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Pet Sematary's SteelBook release features a metallic blood-red border broken up by a nearly full-panel depiction of Church, the Creed
family pet that dies on the road and is resurrected in the nearby burying ground. The cat is essentially in silhouette save for its mean, dead eyes
peering forward. The film's title, in that same blood red color, appears across Church's torso while several children in silhouette and donning masks
march across the bottom to bury a beloved animal in the cemetery, as seen in an early film shot. The rear panel carries over the same blood-red
color, broken up here by a slope of land that juts upward from left to right. Various crosses are scattered across its surface, some distant, from close.
The closest, and largest, has the words "Pet Sematary" scrawled across the horizontal bar. "diBonaventura Pictures" text appears in small red print
bottom left while a Paramount logo, copyright notice, and model number appear unobtrusively in red bottom right. Both front and rear panels are
glossy and will attract fingerprints. The spine sticks with the blood red color scheme. The film's title appears center in black lettering. A Paramount logo
appears at the top and a Blu-ray disc logo appears at the bottom, also both in black.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a black-and-white image not entirely dissimilar from the imagery used
on the exterior rear. Here, the cemetery's ground slopes upward to the right, again, and several crosses dot its landscape, including one with the film's
title across its horizontal bar. These are a little more busy, with chains and other items hanging off some them in detail. It also depicts several children
scattered
about the land as they prepare to bury a recently deceased animal.

Pet Sematary's remake is not a particularly good film, but its SteelBook is impressively attractive. The blood-red color scheme is a nice touch on both sides while the inner print is a little less dramatic but still visually effective despite the similarity to the rear panel. Recommended for fans of the film and SteelBook collectors.
