Paramount has released an impressive seven film set spanning nine discs for the entire 'Paranormal Activity' franchise. This collection includes legacy Blu-ray releases, a film that is new to the format ('Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin'), and a new extra, all shipping in a large outer box. Paranormal Activity: The Ultimate Chills Collection Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras 

These films and the bonus disc ship in a slip box that measures approximately 7" tall, 4" wide, and 7" tall. The box is attractively subtle with dark blue color schemes and two key symbols from the film adorning the spine and rear. The series title appears on the front, embossed, in a teal color. The discs fit snuggly inside. Each of them share matching spine artwork with the film titles pushed down to the bottom and together forming a creepy hand image. They all ship in clear Amaray cases and include reversible cover artwork. Also included is a circular Paranormal Activity-themed decal measuring approximately 5.25" in diameter. Digital copy codes for each film are found inside the case for the first film.

The draw here, beyond Next of Kin, is a bonus disc with the feature-length supplement titled Unknown Dimension: The Story of 'Paranormal Activity' (1080p, 1:34:34). The program is treated like a feature film, with 5.1 lossless audio, an audio descriptive track, and multiple language and subtitle options. The piece opens with a lengthy discussion of the history of the Found Footage genre and moves on to cover, of course, the Paranormal Activity films in great detail. The piece spends over a third of its runtime on the first film alone and then jumps through the story of each of the subsequent films, each earning about 10 or 15 minutes each. This piece is made of in-depth interviews with key cast and crew, film footage, behind-the-scenes clips, and more. For fans of the franchise, this making-of will be a treasure trove of content that makes this set well worth a purchase. Paranormal Activity: The Ultimate Chills Collection Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation 

This is a great set. While the first six film discs are just reprints from previous issues, the set does include a film that is new to Blu-ray and a bonus disc that includes a feature-length film documenting the franchise's creation and impact. The box is attractive and is worthy of being a centerpiece in any Horror home video collection. Recommended, especially to newcomers but also hardcore franchise fans. Bundle those old releases, flip them on Ebay, and fund this set.
