Momotaro: Sacred Sailors / The Spider and the Tulip (1945)
Japan's first feature length animated film is a propaganda piece commemorating Japanese military victories in the South Pacific. It traces the story of Japanese youths from their school days to their joining the military to fight Japan's Western enemies throughout Asia and thereby "liberate" them from colonial oppression.
