Reviewed by Martin Liebman February 6, 2024
Paramount has released a Blu-ray SteelBook version of the fan-favorite 2004 film 'Mean Girls,' directed by Mark Waters and starring Lindsay
Lohan. The film was previously released to Blu-ray in 2009. That same disc is included here. See the
'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Mean Girls Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

Paramount's Mean Girls SteelBook is based on a pink metallic color. The front features the words "Burn Book" prominently on the front, making
an oval shape around a lipstick "kiss" mark, center. Some text and artistic scribbling appears in the background, mostly on the top left and bottom left
but elsewhere as well. The rear panel simply features a number of the same lipstick "kiss" symbols scattered around with some dark coloring around
them. The spine is pink with the film's title in black center. A black Paramount logo appears at the top and a black Blu-ray disc logo at the bottom. A few
additional scribbles appear in black top and bottom, with the word "burn" at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The lone Blu-ray disc is situated on the right on a central hub. The inner print
is
a two-panel spread that features a pink background holding a couple of Polaroid pictures with various written captions on the bottom. There is also a
white post-it note on the left, taped own, a few photos without text, a little bit of black text offset from a photo, and a few kiss marks.

Mean Girls Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

Parmount's SteelBook looks great. The color scheme really fits the film, as does the various design cues on it. It is basically a metallic reproduction of
one of the film's key props. It's too bad that the disc is just the same as before. Perhaps a 4K issue is imminent. Until then, this SteelBook is very nice.
Recommended.
