Disney and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for the hit (long time in the making) sequel 'Mary Poppins Returns.' The SteelBook includes the same on-disc and digital content as that found in wide release packaging. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

The front and rear covers are heavy on blues and purple, which prove to be nice offsetting colors for Poppins' red accents. The title character
appears on the left-hand side, her left largely aligning with the cover's center. The hand-drawn imagery depicts Poppins gazing forward, her left eye
obstructed by her signature hat. She's holding her umbrella with red gloves with white polkadots, which matches her bowtie. A "floating head"
depiction of Jack the Lamplighter appears to her left, while an image of Big Ben -- time is a crucial thematic element in the movie -- appears on the
right, with Poppins in silhouette floating above it. The film's title appears in large text bottom right. The words "Mary Poppins Returns" are debossed;
"Disney" is not. The rear side maintains a similar blue-purple foundational color and reveals a hand-drawn depiction of the horse and buggy that carries
Poppins, Jack, and the children when they enter the animated realm. A couple of bowtie-wearing penguins dance as the carriage derives by while crisp
yellow fall maple leaves dot the scene like stars. The spine is a design departure, featuring a red backdrop that gives way to darker streaks at the
bottom. The
film's title is centered. An UltraHD logo appears at the top and a Disney logo at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked under the left-hand side tabs. On the right, the two discs -- one UHD and one Blu-ray -- are staggered-stacked.
The inner print is a two-panel spread that depicts a scene with Jack hanging from a lamppost on the right, directly under the discs. The children and
Poppins appear on the right as well, while several onlookers with their own lamp lighting torches appear on the bottom left. The image is from the
sequence featuring the song "Trip a Little Light Fantastic."

What's tantamount to "floating Heads" may not be everyone's idea of an attractive SteelBook front image. This is an example where, for this reviewer's taste, the wide release front image is the nicer of the two. At least the rear side and interior images are a little more in-line with expectations. It's still a quality SteelBook, and collectors will certainly want to give it a permanent home in the collection.
