Cross My Heart: A man and a woman hide little things about themselves on their third date, and the little white lies soon spiral out of control into a night they'll never forget. Martin Short is a national treasure, and Hollywood certainly tried to turn him into a leading man. Mill Creek provides a reminder of Short’s big screen dominance with the double feature release of 1987’s “Cross My Heart” and 1991’s “Pure Luck.”

"Cross My Heart" is clearly the more appealing and cohesive picture, but both films showcase Martin Short's ability to deal with various opportunities for comedy. No supplementary material is a shame, along with old scans, keeping this double feature only for the most die-hard fans of the actor, and they deserve a better A/V experience.
