Warner Brothers and Best Buy have collaborated on a handsome SteelBook exclusive for the Superhero picture 'Man of Steel,' the first film in the DC Extended Universe series. The SteelBook includes the film on Blu-ray only and includes a dedicated second disc of bonus features. The set does not include the film on either Blu-ray 3D or 4K UHD. The film was previously released in SteelBook packaging as a Wal-Mart exclusive. See the 'Special Features and Extras' tab below for more on this SteelBook.

For the most part, Warner Brothers and DC have done a great job with this line of DCEU SteelBooks, and Man of Steel's may be the nicest of
the bunch. On the front, the iconic hero stands atop a space rock against a gorgeous solar backdrop with a dominant purple color across the
bottom-left and a brighter explosion of white and blue on the top-right half, with Krypton exploding and baby Kal-El's escape pod hurtling towards it
destination. A DC logo unobtrusively sits at the top-left. The film's title appears centered across the top with the text "A Zack Snyder film" in tiny
print above. The rear is a mirror image of the front, scooted upward just a little, cutting off part of the escape pod but gaining some information at the
bottom. No text beyond artist signature (which also appears on the front) is to be found. It's also a black-and-white depiction, much the
same as was seen on the Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice SteelBook. The spine features
shades of purple colors that carry over from the front. The film's title appears center and in white, block letters, the same as the front. A Blu-ray logo
sits atop and DC and WB logos appear at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand side tabs. The two Blu-ray discs -- feature film+extras and additional extras -- are
housed on the right, staggered-stacked. The inner print is a two-panel spread featuring Superman floating high above the surface. His body fills most
of the right-hand side. The superhero gazes to his left, or the viewer's right. His cape flows to the left-hand side, below which is an indistinct,
blurry surface. A small credits cluster and tiny-type legalese appear unobtrusively on the bottom of the left-hand panel.

Man of Steel's SteelBook release compares favorably to the Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice offering. Both are uniquely attractive, and the flip-side black-and-white artwork is a nice touch. The on-disc content is very good, too. Highly recommended.
