Maleficent 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

Disney's glossy, smooth, fingerprint magnet SteelBook features a black front cover. The only image is a headshot of the title character, the white skin, a
hint of the the intensely red lips, and the piercing eyes the only color escapes from black. Her horns and cloak are black, too, but a bit more reflective,
capturing a little light to help offset them from the absorbing background. The character's back is to the SteelBook's front, her head turned over her
left
shoulder and eyes gazing straight on. The rear panel is a bit busier, featuring a somewhat sprawling world vista packed with outgrowths and various
odds and ends, including a number of creatures. Most prominently featured is Aurora on the right in the familiar blue dress. The three fairies hover
above,
center. There is no text on either the front or the back, but a copyright notice and a model number unobtrusively appear on the bottom rear panel. The
spine is also black at the top but fades to a blue color toward the bottom. The film's title appears center, accompanied by "Disney." An UltraHD logo
appears at the top and a Disney logo may be found at
the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features an expansive vista of the kingdom. It's a daytime shot with plenty of
sprawling terrain and greenery. The castle sits far away in the distance on the left-hand side. On the right is a closer area, a small hill with a large tree
growing at its peak. A girl sits towards the edge, looking off into the distance.
The UHD disc includes no extras. For full coverage of the Blu-ray's supplemental content, please click here; note that this link points to the 2014 Blu-ray release.
Maleficent 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

Maleficent's SteelBook plays dark on the front, mysterious on the rear, and serene inside. It's a nice blend of imagery, color, and subtlety on
the front but busyness on the back. It's an interesting but effective package. The on-disc content is very good. Highly recommended.
