Magnum Force (1973)

Mysterious murders of underworld figures are taking place all over San Francisco. Criminals who have escaped prosecution are getting the justice they deserve, the sort of justice you'd think Detective Harry Callahan would approve. But if you think that way you've misjudged Harry - and so have the killers. Clint Eastwood headlines this solid sequel pitting Callahan against an unexpected lawbreaker: one who carries a badge. Sharpshooting rookie motorcycle cops have turned vigilante, rubbing out crooks the courts can't touch. Their real enemy is the system. Unfortunately for them, the system is what Harry is sworn to protect. Written by future directors John Milius and Michael Cimino, it's suspenseful, power-packed entertainment.
