Looney Tunes Platinum Collection: Volume Two Blu-ray Movie Review

Sorry again, scalpers.

Reviewed by Randy Miller III July 11, 2025

After several years of being out-ot-print and commanding sky-high prices from third-party sellers, Warner Bros. has resumed production of Looney Tunes Platinum Collection, Volumes One & Two. The content is identical for these three-disc sets: each volume still serves up then-new 1080p transfers of 50 classic shorts and lots of special features, making them an essential purchase for fans of Bugs Bunny, Daffy, Porky, and the rest of the gang. So no more paying two or three figures for these things -- they're back to less than $30 apiece, which is great news for animation fans.

This second volume has fewer packaging compromises than the first one, as it was only ever available in a keepcase edition; we should really only be missing a slipcover, but unfortunately there's again no insert explaining which shorts are actually in this collection. Oddly enough, an entire 28-page booklet is promised on the back cover, but it's nowhere to be found. If you're like me and didn't get one either, don't worry: Kenneth Brown typed out another full list in his review of the 2012 Blu-ray set, which is repeated below for your convenience. Thanks again Ken!

25 episodes are on each disc, while the third disc includes most of the bonus features.

Looney Tunes Platinum Collection: Volume Two Blu-ray Movie, Video Quality  4.0 of 5

For details about the 1080p transfers of these classic shorts, please see Ken Brown's review of the 2012 Blu-ray set. Please note that they're exactly the same between both versions, but I've graded this new set a perhaps more accurate 4/5 by today's standards -- these shorts still look very good for the most part, but obviously don't reach the heights achieved by most of what Warner Archive has managed to produce in more recent years.

Looney Tunes Platinum Collection: Volume Two Blu-ray Movie, Audio Quality  3.5 of 5

For details about the lossy Dolby Digital mono audio mixes (sigh), please see Ken's 2012 Blu-ray review linked above. Likewise, the foreign dub and subtitle options remain the same as before.

Looney Tunes Platinum Collection: Volume Two Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras  5.0 of 5

This three-disc-set ships in a hinged keepcase with hubs for each disc; no slipcover is included, nor do we get a Digital Copy or any inserts. However, we do still get the same plentiful number of bonus features spread across all three discs. They're all listed and detailed in Ken Brown's review of the 2012 Blu-ray set.

Looney Tunes Platinum Collection: Volume Two Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation  4.0 of 5

Looney Tunes Platinum Collection, Volumes One & Two have been OOP for a while, but WB has thankfully resumed production so they're finally attainable for a low price. Volume 1 features a few packaging downgrades and doesn't even include an episode list (see above for that), but all on-disc content is the same as before which makes this an essential purchase for fans of classic animation who missed it the first time around. Firmly Recommended.
