Broadcast on NHK (Attack on Titan, Macross Plus), Log Horizon Season 2 features theme song performances by Man With a Mission (opening) and Yun*chi (ending).

Produced by Kenichiro Naeshiro (The Dragon Dentist, Orb: On the Movements of the Earth), Log Horizon Season 2 features original character designs by Kazuhiro Hara (Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table, Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE). The second season includes voice performances by Emiri Katō, Takuma Terashima, and Tomoaki Maeno.

The game continues on and there are more opportunities to level up. The exciting adventures of the game are expanded following the Apocalypse. Several months after the end of the Apocalypse, the main game players of Log Horizon are finding new and exciting adventures to explore – with plenty to enjoy in regards to the culture.

The players dive deep into the world of good food and music. The characters form new alliances. The guilds expand. Shiroe (Takuma Terashima) sets forth on an epic quest to find hidden treasures capable of bringing new wealth to the city. Boss missions still await, too. The journey continues. Log Horizon Season 2 features supporting characters Akatsuki (Emiri Katō) and Naotsugu (Tomoaki Maeno).

Log Horizon Season 2 includes character designs by Tetsuya Kumagai (Slayers Premium, Giant Killing). The character designs are well-done and add a lot to the production. The designs make a wonderful impression and certainly help out with the storytelling. Kumagai did a fantastic job as character designer. The efforts are impressive and add a lot to the production.

The animation is one of the most stunning and important aspects of the production. Log Horizon Season 2 features wonderful art direction by Masakazu Miyake (Chio's School Road, The Helpful Fox Senko-san) and chief animation direction by Akio Hirakawa (Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East, Peach Girl) and Noboru Jitsuhara (Mahō Sensei Negima!: Mō Hitotsu no Sekai, The Venus Files). The animators did incredible work with the series. The team of animators managed to add impressive visuals for the background animation, line artwork, and more. The animation style is remarkable and certainly is something that adds a lot of wonder to the television series.

Edited by Rie Matsubara (Arakawa Under the Bridge, The Boy and the Heron), Log Horizon Season 2 is well paced and well done throughout. Log Horizon Season 2 has a nice sense of rhythm for the fun editing style. The action scenes are well edited together and make a solid impression.

The cinematography by Shinyo Kondō (Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East, Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok) is impressive and adds to the production merit. Kondo is a talented cinematographer – showcasing a wonderful sense of style. The cinematography certainly highlights the robust and colorful animation. The aesthetic makes a big impression and is one of the forefront aspects of the series – the animation offering so much artistry in spades.

Featuring a score composed by Yasuharu Takanashi (Fairy Tail, Record of Ragnarok), Log Horizon Season 2 includes solid music. The score certainly adds something special to the production. The music adds a sense of wonder. The score isn’t perfect but it is a nice accompaniment to the action-adventure. The impressive aspects of the score help to build the production.

Written by Toshizo Nemoto (Chrome Shelled Regios, Getbackers), Log Horizon Season 2 is well- done and has solid scripting. Nemoto did a solid job with good dialogue for the cast of characters. The writing is engaging enough to add charm to the production – while also highlighting the action sequences. A worthwhile script effort by Nemoto and something fans will appreciate.

Directed by Shinji Ishihira (Fairy Tail, Reincarnated as a Sword), Log Horizon Season 2 brings more exciting energy to the table. Log Horizon Season 2 features solid action beats and these elements manage to enhance the storytelling in spades. Log Horizon Season 2 is a solid showcase for the efforts of Ishihira. Log Horizon Season 2 might not be a perfect home run but fans will be engaged by the continuing journey and there is plenty audiences will appreciate about the vibrant aesthetic and storytelling efforts.

Indeed, the action scenes may be reason enough for some to check out the series. Log Horizon Season 2 brings plenty of action- adventure for fans. The build up of the action scenes is spectacular and there is certainly something to appreciate. Log Horizon Season 2 provides plenty of adrenaline for genre fans. Fans of the genre will find something worthwhile and worth appreciating.

Released on Blu-ray by Crunchyroll, Log Horizon Season 2 is presented in 1080p MPEG-4 AVC encoded high-definition in the original television broadcast aspect ratio of 1.78:1 widescreen. The release has impressive high-definition video. The high-definition video looks robust and crisp on the release. An engaging presentation and one with robust colors and aesthetic qualities. The aesthetic qualities are fantastic and certainly engage in spades.

One of the strengths of physical media is the superior video quality. Streaming video services often provide video with more compression. For home theater enthusiasts seeking the best possible video presentation, there are some gains that can be had with the physical media format – more robust video with crisper detail compared to streaming counterparts. For home theater enthusiasts and aficionados, these elements can add a lot to the production.

The release comes with a gorgeously designed o-card slipcover. The slipcover features unique key artwork. The artwork underneath the slipcover features additional key artwork, too. The set looks fantastic and will look great in hand and on the shelf. The package design is top-notch and well worthwhile.

The release doesn’t include any on disc bonus features. This is a shame as supplemental features can make a big difference for physical media fans. In the era of streaming services, many fans opt for a one-time stream over a physical media purchase unless there are enough enticing “goodies” to bring them in and hook them with physical media.

One area that should always be emphasized is that of bonus features and having a more robust supplemental package. Extras such as audio commentaries, behind-the-scenes, making-of featurettes, cast/crew interviews, and more – all add something special to the package. Even some photo galleries or art galleries can make a nice difference in the supplemental selection.

Log Horizon Season 2 adds more action-adventure for fans of genre anime television. The series has impressive production values. There are plenty of noteworthy aspects to the series. The Blu-ray release provides a quality high-definition presentation, lossless audio encoding, and nice collectable packaging. The release has no on disc supplements. The release does include an o-card slipcover. While the set certainly isn't as robustly packed as some of the best box sets – it does manage to provide the fun benefit of permanent ownership for fans of the series. Collectors who owned the first season and want to continue to build up their collection will be pleased with the second season set being available to add to their assortment of titles. Recommended.
