A corrupt Drug Enforcement Administration boss and his thugs murder Mathilda's family in a drug deal gone awry. Orphaned by the massacre, Mathilda is forced to take shelter in the apartment of a neighbor, Léon, whom she knows only slightly. He's a loner and first generation immigrant, who also happens to be a professional hitman. He's never had reason to care about anybody and she has no one else to turn to. Together they form a makeshift bond that will forever change both their lives.

Sony and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive UHD SteelBook release for the 1994 Luc Besson film 'The Professional.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the 4K wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Sony's The Professional SteelBook is smoothly textured but even so, and even in its darkest areas, it's not particularly prone to displaying
handling fingerprints. The front panel prominently depicts Léon, facing forward, embracing Mathilda, facing rearward, the former gently kissing the
latter on the top of the head. The characters are standing in what might be a doorway, but most of the background is a fiery orange color of varying
shades, pushing white here and red there. The film's title runs vertically down the right-hand side, "Leon" in red and "The Professional" in black. The
rear panel depicts Mathilda, facing forward and
looking straight ahead, holding a stuffed rabbit toy to her chest, behind "crime scene do not enter" police tape. There are a couple of other signs behind
her and a doorknob on the right, but most of the background is simply black. The spine is a mildly metallic orange color, much like the front a little
varied in color output. The film's title is slightly above center, the word "Leon" in red and "The Professional" in black. A Columbia logo has been placed
at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that is simply a dark gray surface.

The Professional is one of the better films to come out of the 1990s and its UHD presentation is first-rate. Sony's SteelBook may be a blank slate inside but the outside panels offer simplistic imagery and a color scheme that suits the movie's tone and color temperature quite nicely. Highly recommended.
