In Texas, years before the events of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, in the early days of the infamous Sawyer family, the youngest child is sentenced to a mental hospital after a suspicious incident leaves the sheriffs’ daughter dead. Ten years later, he kidnaps a young nurse and escapes with 3 other inmates. Pursued by authorities including the deranged sheriff out to avenge his daughter’s death, the young Sawyer teen goes on a violent road trip from hell, molding him into the monster known now as Leatherface.

Lionsgate is once again partnering with Walmart to provide collectors with a set of SteelBook releases, this time with several linked "Bloody Disgusting" titles. All of the SteelBooks have similar designs that feature an emphasis on blacks, which may mean that white gloves may be in order for fingerprint and/or other smudge protection.
Video quality is assessed in the above linked review.

On disc supplements are detailed in the above linked review. The SteelBook offers a study in black and red, with a maybe just slightly comical bovine head offered in black and white taking up most of the front panel, albeit with that skull burst open and bleeding and offering an actual human in red. The back panel features a quote, following the branding of all of these "Bloody Disgusting" SteelBook releases. The interior panels offer a black and white photograph with red highlights. All of these similarly branded SteelBooks have a J card. A digital copy is also included.
This is another re-release of a Lionsgate title that is seemingly going to appeal to a very narrow demographic, but one way or the other, this particular disc offers stronger than average technical merits, and some care has been taken to "standardize" the look of all the Bloody Disgusting SteelBooks, with this one making a suitable shelf mate for others in the collection, for anyone who may be considering making a purchase.
