Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 4K Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Jeffrey Kauffman September 2, 2024
Charlton Heston may have famously intoned "Take your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape!" in the original Planet of the Apes, but some "cousins" to apes may want to get their
paws (stinking or otherwise) on the specialty SteelBook packaging 20th Century Studios and Disney / Buena Vista are offering as an option for their
recent release of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes in 4K UHD. The disc contents, which include a 1080 disc offering a "raw cut" full of VFX
and other production information, match the
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 4K wide release.

For my thoughts on the film, please head over to my

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

On disc(s) supplements are detailed in the above linked review. This is a really handsomely designed SteelBook which offers near photo realistic
character illustrations on both the front and back panels. The front panel offers an aggregation of major characters, while the back offers a nice looking
scene of some of the falconry in the film. The general color scheme is kind of in the ochre / beige / yellow spectrum, with a slightly golden brown
border surrounding the imagery. The interior panels offer an illustration of the apes wreaking havoc. A digital copy is included, and packaging also
features a J card.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

Specialty packaging collectors will most likely find this a really nicely designed addition on their shelves, and as with the wide release, technical merits
are first rate. Recommended.
