King Kong 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

King Kong's SteelBook favors artistic simplicity over visual volume and density, particularly on the front cover. A handsome black frame
surrounds
an image of the title character, haunched down on its fists, fading into shadow and facing right, looking down at Ann Darrow, who appears in white, a
diminutive figure in comparison, looking at the beast. Unlike Kong fading into shadow, Darrow almost appears to be in a spotlight. A thin smoke
permeates the visible background between them. The rear panel features a full-face shot of King Kong in the middle of a ferocious growl, showing
angry eyes and hungry teeth. In white at the bottom, center, is a Universal logo and legalese. A model number appears bottom-right. The spine is a
flat
black with the
film's title in block white letters (which give way to a darker coloring towards the bottom), center. A Universal logo appears at the bottom, also in
white. The SteelBook is textured and grippy rather than smooth and glossy. It will not show obvious fingerprints.
Inside, the digital copy code floats; there are no tabs. The three discs occupy two sides. One disc is situated individually on the left while two appear in
staggered-stacked formation on the right. The inner print is a two-panel spread that again features King Kong and Ann Darrow. In a tasteful and
elegant black-and-white still, the beast is holding the leading lady, who is in a seated position, in the palm of its hand. The two are high atop the city.

King Kong 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

King Kong's SteelBook is simple and elegant. Despite a fairly loud -- but effective -- back cover, it favors subtlety and tasteful imagery on the
front and inside rather
than anything of excess. The on-disc content is terrific. Highly recommended for both newcomers to the film on UHD as well as SteelBook collectors.
