Kickboxer Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Jeffrey Kauffman March 4, 2024
Lionsgate is teaming with Wal-Mart to offer a trio of previously released titles, now with SteelBook packaging. Interestingly, two out of the three, Little Monsters and Shivers, further bear the Vestron Video
imprint, leaving
Kickboxer the outlier in that regard.

Aside from not being part of the Vestron Video imprint, the first release of
Kickboxer on Blu-ray also pre-dates the other two by a good, long
while. Those interested in a plot recap and technical analysis are encouraged to read Martin Liebman's
Kickboxer Blu-ray review of that now long ago original release.

Kickboxer Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

There are no on disc supplements. The SteelBook has one of the more arresting covers of the three new Wal-Mart exclusives, with a couple of images
of Van Damme on the front panel, including a large blue image, that contrast nicely against really evocative orange-red backgrounds. Background
images offer looks at some supporting characters. As with all three of the Wal-Mart SteelBooks, the interior panels really don't offer much, as can be
seen in the sixth and seventh photos I've uploaded to accompany this review. A digital copy is also included.
Kickboxer Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

I frankly might be a bit better disposed toward Kickboxer than Marty evidently was, though maybe hilariously not enough to really
adjust Marty's score much. The first Blu-ray release is so old now that many may have forgotten about it, which may give this new SteelBook
packaging some allure, and this offers a nicely sleek design with some bold color choices.
