Kick-Ass 2 4K Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Martin Liebman September 21, 2023
Universal and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the 2013 film 'Kick-Ass 2.' The disc and digital
content are identical to that found in the UHD wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below
for
more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Kick-Ass 2 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

Universal's matte SteelBook depicts Hit-Girl and Kick-Ass in action poses, standing in front of a white background splattered with purple and green
paint. The film's title appears in block yellow letters bottom-center (the number "2" is red). The rear panel depicts The Mother ****** and Colonel
Stars and Stripes, again in front of a white background but here with red and blue paint splotches. The spine carries over the same stylistic elements
with the film's title center and black Universal logo bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a lineup of key characters on the left in front of a dark urban
environment. They are pushed back in-frame quite a bit to fit everyone in. On the right is a bleak looking continuation of the background
environment.
Frankly it's not a very attractive inner print presentation.

Kick-Ass 2 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

This is a fairly low effort SteelBook that is character focused. The exterior panels look decent enough but the inside leaves much to be desired.
However, the UHD looks and sounds great and the UHD includes some new extras. Worth looking at for fans.
