Sung Shih Chieh, a brilliant, but somewhat shifty lawyer who uses his verbal dexterity in the pursuit of cash, not justice. His kung-fu kicking wife frowns on his success as it has had a terrible karmic price: all twelve of their infant sons have died prematurely. Sung agrees to leave his legal chicanery behind, but a murder case involving Madame Chou arrives on his doorstep. Sung is pulled out of self-imposed retirement by this sensational case, and the Qing Dynasty legal world had better watch out!

Justice, My Foot! is an entertaining Hong Kong action-comedy classic. Based on the book Four Scholars, Justice, My Foot! is produced by Clifton Ko (Shaolin Intruders, The Lady Is the Boss). Executive produced by Mona Fong (The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, Lifeline), Justice, My Foot! stars Stephen Chow, Anita Mui, Man-Tat Ng, Carrie Ng, Paul Chun.
Sung Sai-Kit (Stephen Chow) is a top-notch lawyer with a reputation for winning every case. Sung is esteemed and will go to any length imaginable to win the case. Sung is also married to the kung-fu woman mastermind Mrs. Sung (Anita Mui).
Despite making a reputation for himself as an undefeatable lawyer, Sung attempts to move past his law expertise and focus on building a family. Yet his sons keep on prematurely dying. As a result, Sung soon decides to retire.
Sung decides to focus on a new business but becomes tempted back to his beloved world as a lawyer – yet the case he becomes intertwined in keeps finding roadblocks and a corrupt system. Can Sung return to his glory days as the best lawyer around?

The supporting cast of characters includes Guangzhou Magistrate Ho Yue-Da (Man-Tat Ng), Yeung Sau-Chun/Yang Hsiu-Chen (Carrie Ng), and Inspector General (Paul Chun). The supporting characters help round out the ensemble cast. Good performances by the supporting actors help enhance the film.
Stephen Chow is an outstanding lead. Chow is one of the best actors in the history of Hong Kong cinema. Chow always creates comedy gold with his acting chops. There is something inherently funny about his mannerisms and sense of comedic timing.
The art direction by Ben Lau (Flying Swords of Dragon Gate, Timeless Romance) is one of the strengths of the film. Lau is a talent and adds a lot to the production. Justice, My Foot! has a unique aesthetic which adds to the filmmaking.
The costume designs by Gam-Jan Yeung (A Better Tomorrow, Love on Delivery) and Bruce Yu (Hard Boiled, Love in Disguise) are well-done. The costumes create a sense of old-school energy with the production emphasizing the genre elements. The style evokes the time-period and setting of the storyline.
The stunts coordinated by Siu-Tung Ching (A Chinese Ghost Story, Hero) are one of the greatest strengths of the production. Ching is a talented stunt coordinated. The action is a natural and entertaining highlight of the feature-film.
Composed by Wai Lap Wu (Drunken Master II, The Heroic Trio), Justice, My Foot! features an excellent score. The music is entertaining and engaging throughout the feature. The score highlights the action scenes and the dramatic backdrop of the production.
The cinematography by Peter Pau (Perhaps Love, The Bride with White Hair) is impressive and there are a lot of impressive visuals highlighted in the feature. Pau is a talented cinematographer and the visual aesthetic adds lots of wonder to the production.
Edited by Sun-Kit Chu (Devoted to You, The Three Swordsmen) and Kam Wah Ng (Shanghai Affairs, The Heroic Trio), Justice, My Foot! is a well-paced feature. The editing style is concise and impressive. An entertaining cut – the editors handled the filmmaking well.
Written by Sandy Shaw (The Heroic Trio, CJ7), Justice, My Foot! features a solid script. The screenplay has good dialogue. The character-moments are well-done. The end result is a more entertaining film.
Directed by Johnnie To (Election, Exiled), Justice, My Foot! is well-directed action-packed entertainment. To is one of the best filmmakers of Hong Kong cinema. To has a distinct visual style as a filmmaker. To understands how to create a compelling action sequence. Justice, My Foot! is well worthwhile.

Released on Blu-ray by Shout Factory, Justice, My Foot! is presented in 1080p MPEG-4 AVC encoded high-definition in the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.86:1 widescreen. The presentation is good throughout the film. The high-definition presentation provides a worthwhile scan of the feature. The filmic and enjoyable transfer has little in the way of print damage or wear. A mostly clean print (even despite the print looking a bit less robust than a brand new 2K/4K restoration).

The release includes a selection of lossless audio options: English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono and Cantonese DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono (with English subtitles). The lossless audio is crisp and engaging on the release. Dialogue is clear and well reproduced. The detail and fidelity impresses. Subtitles are well-done and are free from egregious spelling or grammatical errors.

Justice, My Foot! is an entertaining action-comedy classic. Fans of classic Hong Kong cinema won't want to miss it. The Blu-ray release includes a high-definition presentation and a selection of worthwhile bonus features – including a documentary about the work of Stephen Chow. Recommended.
