The New Frontier takes viewers on an action-packed adventure, exploring the origins of the Justice League. DC Comics legends Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are all featured in the film as well as Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter and The Flash – as they band together to form the legendary super team. Strangers at first, these very different heroes must overcome fear and suspicion to forge an alliance against a monster so formidable, even the mighty Superman cannot stop it alone. If they fail, the entire planet will be cleansed of humanity.

Warner Brothers re-released 'Justice League: The New Frontier' mere weeks before the live action Justice League hit theaters back in October 2017. Dubbed the 'Commemorative Edition" (joining Wonder Woman with that label), this release adds a few new extras, loses a few from the 2008 release, and features new video and audio encodes. DVD and digital copies are also included this time around. This SteelBook release features gorgeous artwork that's a standout on the packaging material and elevated beyond the basic standard packaging presentation; on-disc content is identical between the two. See the "Special Features and Extras" section below for more information.

Though it lacks any embossing or debossing and shares main cover artwork with the standard packaging variant, Justice League: New
Frontier's gorgeous SteelBook is well worth the added cost. The platform agrees with Darwyn Cooke's front image artwork, which features a
gaggle of characters from the film looking towards a brighter tomorrow (but unknowing the dangers the League would face in the future). The rear
panel additionally depicts a number of heroes and characters from the film, also looking off to the right, appearing here in more of a cluster rather than
linearly, as on the front. The artwork is texturally differentiated from that appearing on the front, appearing as more "contemporary" comic artwork.
The spine is an attractive flat black with the film's title
prominently centered. A Blu-ray logo appears atop and DC and Warner Brothers logos appear at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code can be found tucked under the left-hand tabs. The Blu-ray and DVD discs are staggered-stacked on individual tabs on the
right-hand side. The inner print features a collection of
Superheroes, appearing in action as opposed to posed or in profile as with the front and rear exteriors. Wonder Woman features most prominently, as
she does on the front, while heroes such as Flash, Superman, Green Lantern, and Batman all appear predominantly, if not entirely, on the right side
under the discs.
The
left hand side features a collage of "lesser" characters as well as a credits cluster at the bottom.

Justice League: New Frontier stands as one of the hallmark stories from DC's expansive vault and one of the finer films in the DC animated universe. The SteelBook is insanely attractive, inside and out, and comes highly recommended for both the packaging presentation and the on-board content, which is identical to the standard packaging release.
