JuJuTsu Kaisen: Season 1 Part 2 continues the action-packed adventure of the series with another installment of the franchise. The series includes the second batch of episodes in the first season. Audiences following along with the action series will want to check out the second set for more adventures.
The JuJuTsu Kaisen: Season 1 Part 2 Blu-ray box set includes episodes 13-24 of the first season. Created by Gege Akutami, JuJuTsu Kaisen: Season 1 Part 2 offers an adrenaline rush to the franchise devotees. While the second set of episodes might not win over any new fans to the franchise (as newcomers should consider starting up at the beginning first), the second set does provide an ample amount of energy for viewers.
Audiences looking for the next big action genre hit may be pleased with the series thrill ride. Released on home media by VIZ Media, JuJuTsu Kaisen: Season 1 Part 2 adds to the saga. The stakes are even higher as the first season continues to unfold. Where will the journey head to next?
The JuJuTsu Kaisen anime series features animation production by MAPPA (Vinland Saga, Terror in Resonance). The JuJuTsu Kaisen series comes from producers Makoto Kimura (Attack on Titan The Final Season, House of Five Leaves), Toshihiro Maeda (Tanaka-kun is Always Listless, Magi: The Kingdom of Magic), Hiroaki Matsutani (Dr. Stone, Dr. Stone: Stone Wars), Yuriha Murai, and Yoshiaki Takagaki. JuJuTsu Kaisen: Season 1 Part 2 also comes from executive producers Akito Takahashi (My Hero Academia, Dr. Stone), Akifumi Fujio (World's End Harem, Spy×Family), Susumu Hieda (My Hero Academia, Witchblade), and Kazutaka Yamanaka (ONIMAI: I'm Now Your Sister!, My Hero Academia).
Jujutsu High has been preparing for an epic battle brawl unlike any other: the intense and action-packed Kyoto Sister School Exchange Event is a giant smorgasbord of action with the big annual competition an event that unites fighters in giant duels. The competition takes place in both Kyoto and Tokyo. The big action takes place with the Jujutsu High Academy campus locations.
The event brings together Maki (Mikako Komatsu), Panda (Tomokazu Seki), Toge (Kouki Uchiyama), Kugisaki (Asami Seto), and Fushiguro (Yūma Uchida). Which fighters will take the lead and emerge victorious? The intense battles will test the will of everyone involved. Whoever walks away the champion of these intense games, one thing is for sure – nothing will be the same.
The character journeys are part of the series charm. The journey focuses on Yūji and the path of the character. Fans of the franchise will be happy to return the fold with more adventures. The charm inherent in the character is something that adds to the action-packed fun of the franchise and it certainly remains vital to the second part of the first season.
Another fun part of the production is the elegant character designs. The designs for the series are by Tadashi Hiramatsu (Yuri!!! on Ice, His and Her Circumstances). The designs feel creative and are fun elements to the series. The design work certainly works well for the main cast of characters. These designs offer a suave and cool aesthetic that keeps things bold and relevant.
One of the key reasons for audiences to check out the series is the action. The action-packed fun of the franchise is something that will bring back audiences looking for more of the same energy. The series offers action fans something new and compelling in the anime threshold and the audience will be excited to return for more adventures in the second part of the first season outing – and that is something to celebrate for genre fans who cannot get enough of the action genre.
The cinematography is another compelling part of the equation. The series has sleek cinematography by Teppei Ito (Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Chainsaw Man). The cinematographer has a keen understanding of the hit anime. The cinematography adds a colorful and vibe-tastic energy that works well for the action beats. The cinematography highlights the animation with good and creative aesthetic flourishes.
The animation on JuJuTsu Kaisen: Season 1 Part 2 is perhaps the best highlight of the entire series. The series has a bold and colorful art style and there is plenty to appreciate about the effort made by the team of animators involved on the production. The animators certainly elevate the material with the animation providing a warm sense of creative glow and a sense of charm to the production. The fun animation style is a clear highlight and it adds to the aesthetic charms of the production in spades.
The original score composed by Arisa Okehazama (The God of High School, The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist In Another World), Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Teasing Master Takagi-san, Alice in Borderland), and Yoshimasa Terui (Jujutsu Kaisen 0) works well for the action-packed anime series. The score adds an element of intensity to the production. The music certainly understands how to maneuver the vibe of the series and deliver something that will please fans.
Written by Hiroshi Seko (Vinland Saga, Attack on Titan), JuJuTsu Kaisen: Season 1 Part 2 picks up the mantle and finds more adventures for the characters. The journey continues. The epic action and adventure are part of the equation. The writing features intriguing dialogue and this also adds an element of whimsy.
Directed by Sung Hoo Park (The God of High School, Garo - Vanishing Line), JuJuTsu Kaisen: Season 1 Part 2 once again showcases the directing talents of Park. The series tackles the action agenda well and the audience will find that the director at the helm continues to offer what fans of the series are looking for with the franchise. The fans of the series are the primary audience and for these viewers, director Park understands the expectations of the audience and deliver something fun for the fanbase.
Released on Blu-ray by VIZ Media, JuJuTsu Kaisen: Season 1 Part 2 is presented in 1080p MPEG-4 AVC encoded high-definition in the original television broadcast aspect ratio of 1.78:1 widescreen. The animation looks impressive on the release. The crisp and colorful high-definition video adds an impressive aspect to the presentation. The series colors are bold and invigorating.
Such a great animation display and the encoding capably handles the art style of the series. The animation is certainly fun – reproduced with vibrant colors and detail. The release is in native high-definition and audiences can rest easy knowing this is a native presentation and not simply an upscale (as is sometimes the case with some anime productions).
The release has the clarity that fans are hoping to find. The encoding by VIZ Media is certainly worthwhile and it is wonderful how the Blu-ray disc format offers improved picture-quality over streaming video services. For those looking for the absolute best presentation quality possible, Blu-ray disc offers improved video over streaming video services (which offer video with lower bit-rates).
The release provides a nice selection of lossless audio options: English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 and Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 (with English subtitles). The quality of the audio on the release certainly adds to the presentation quality. The lossless encoding provides superior lossless audio compared to streaming video services – which tend to offer audio in only a lossy (not lossless) presentation format, with compressed data and lower bit-rates. For audiophiles seeking to eek out the absolute best audio quality possible, Blu-ray disc offers what fans are looking for – the best of the best – accept no substitutes.
