'It Came From Outer Space' arrives on 4K disc courtesy of Universal as part of their 'Universal Essentials Collection', which includes a Blu-ray disc with a 2D and 3D presentation, an English DTS-MA 3.0 audio track, the legacy special features from the 2016 Blu-ray release, and a Digital Code. While there isn't any new on-disc content, this release is housed in a sturdy chipboard box and features a great deal of additional printed material that fans of the film are sure to enjoy.

The main draw for fans here is the volume of printed material included in the Universal Essentials Collection release of It Came From Outer Space 4K + 3D. The 34-page booklet contains a host of on-set photos, a wide assortment of print ads and posters, and pictures of promotional activities from the film's original release in front of theaters and other locations. There is a rather sharp-looking reproduction of a film cell from the movie encased in a sturdy cardboard frame with a built-in stand. Four promotional art cards reproduce artwork from the film's release and measure approximately 5.25 x 6.75". They are printed on sturdy card stock with a slick glossy finish. More casual fans will likely stick with the standard release of this film. However, those who are more ardent fans of science fiction from the 1950s and of this movie in particular, should not hesitate to pick up a copy of the Universal Essentials Collections of It Came From Outer Space 4K + 3D. Loaded with meticulously reproduced art and images from the film's original release, a replica film cell, and reversible cover all contained in a beautiful chipboard box, it's the best and most deluxe release of this classic film.
