Indiana Jones' newest adventure begins in the desert Southwest in 1957 — the height of the Cold War. Indy and his sidekick Mac have barely escaped a close scrape with nefarious Soviet agents on a remote airfield. Now, Professor Jones has returned home to Marshall College — only to find things have gone from bad to worse. His close friend and dean of the college explains that Indy's recent activities have made him the object of suspicion, and that the government has put pressure on the university to fire him. On his way out of town, Indiana meets rebellious young Mutt, who carries both a grudge and a proposition for the adventurous archaeologist: If he'll help Mutt on a mission with deeply personal stakes, Indy could very well make one of the most spectacular archaeological finds in history — the Crystal Skull of Akator, a legendary object of fascination, superstition and fear.

Paramount has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the classic 2008 franchise film 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release, which is otherwise only available as part of an 'Indy' 4K collection. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Paramount's glossy SteelBook will attract fingerprints in its darker areas, especially on the rear. The front panel recreates classic artwork for the film,
depicting a character collage with Indy most prominent top center and the Crystal Skull itself center. The film's title appears in familiar script bottom
center. The coloring is predominantly assorted shades of brown. The rear panel features an
orange-ish world map with the Crystal Skull center. A bit of legalese and a couple of studio logos appear about a fifth of the way up from the bottom.
The spine is
glossy-black with the film's title center in small print. A Paramount logo has been placed at the top and an UltraHD logo at the bottom, both in the same
color as the back paneling.
Inside, the digital copy code and the folded poster are tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The lone UHD disc is situated on the right on a central
hub. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a classic scene from the film featuring Indy, Mutt, and Marion inside a truck. Indy is holding an
RPG.

It's nice to see Paramount bring back original artwork for this one rather than drop some unattractive Photoshop hack. The rear panel is a little uninspired, but the front is great, as is the interior. The poster is handsome and well worth framing. The UHD looks and sounds wonderful, too. This SteelBook earns my highest recommendation.
