Imagine & Gimme Some Truth.
Universal Music Group is celebrating what would have been John Lennon's 78th birthday on October 9 with the release of Imagine and
tangentially related items in a number of formats. That includes a new "two fer" released in collaboration with Eagle Rock Entertainment that gathers
together two fascinating films featuring John and Yoko tied directly to Imagine. Those wanting more information on this title and its sibling
are encouraged to read our Imagine &
Gimme Some Truth Blu-ray review, which contains full coverage and more screenshots from each film included on the Blu-ray disc.

For my thoughts on both of the films included in this release, please see our

Imagine Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

Imagine is a patently bizarre aggregation of nascent "music videos", and it is definitely a historical curiosity of the first order. It's actually kind
of heartwarming to see John and Yoko frolicking around their immense estate, but there's also an undeniably pretentious aspect to much of what goes
on in this film, and as such, even some Lennon fans may find their patience being tested. The music sounds great (at least the Lennon music,
but I digress), and fans will almost certainly want to check this out, even if Gimme Some Truth is really the more interesting offering in some
ways.
