Universal and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive UHD SteelBook release for Director Willard Huyck's 1986 summer flop 'Howard the Duck.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Universal brings Howard the Duck to UHD SteelBook with a nice looking presentation that has more work done on it than many other superior
films earn. The front and rear panels are glossy smooth and will display some handling fingerprints. The front image features Howard, center, bursting
out of an egg as if from the efforts of a karate kick, surrounded by an assortment of "stuff" from the movie: a glider, an alien, sunglasses, a guitar, and
a pop can. A few pieces of broken egg are strewn about, and the background is a pleasing purply outer space star field. The film's title appears center
bottom with the word "Howard" made to look 3-D; the title is in orange. There is some fancy debossing work on the front, framing the center image and
giving a feel of raised texturing to most everything inside, including the title. It's very nice. The rear panel features the "beginning" of the story. Against
the same space background is the egg, just only starting to crack open. The only hole in it reveals Howard's eye. A lone feather floats top left
(representing the one that landed in the lab rather than the alley). A rather large and obtrusive Universal logo and legalese appear bottom left. The
spine
holds the same coloring and features the film's title center. A small white Universal logo has been placed at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a close-up still photo depicting Howard, left, and Beverly, right.

This is a great looking SteelBook: it's fun, the colors are spot on, and even the inner print is OK. The movie stinks but it's fun in the right context. The UHD looks terrific and sounds good. Recommended.
