Sony and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for the rather epic UHD release of Director Guillermo del Toro's 2004 film 'Hellboy.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Sony's SteelBook release of Hellboy repurposes the same front panel artwork found on the wide release. It's very nice, a red-on-black
depiction of the title character, holding up his rather large revolver, the one visible eye an offsetting yellow. The film's title appears on the top-left
corner. The rear panel maintains the strict black background. A broken red border pattern wraps around the edges. In the middle is a depiction of a
hand holding a sword within two concentric circles. Color is more of a golden hue. A bit of red splatter may be seen in the bottom left quadrant. The
spine is a flat black with the film's title in red, center, and a Columbia Pictures logo at the bottom, also in red. The SteelBook's finish is matte and flat
and slightly grippy. It will not show fingerprints.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a blank slate of shiny reflective red color. There is no artwork of any
kind.

Hellboy's UHD disc and feature-packed newly remastered Blu-ray add up to one of the year's top releases. The SteelBook packaging variant curiously recycles front artwork, though it is admittedly very nice. The rear panel is nothing to write home about and the interior is, per Sony catalogue release standards, blank. All things being equal there's not a lot of incentive to choose this version, but collectors will want to do so. What's inside the set obviously comes very highly recommended.
