Halloween Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Martin Liebman February 19, 2019
Cinedigm has widely released (i.e. not a store exclusive) a SteelBook for the 2007 Rob Zombie remake/reimagining film Halloween,
undoubtedly in order to capitalize on the release of the new film of the same name. Weinstein Company previously released the film to Blu-ray in 2008 as a two-disc set. All of that
material, and the A/V presentations, carry over to this release. For more on the SteelBook, see the 'Special Features and Extras' tab below for more
information.

Halloween's front panel offers a handsome image of Michael Myers staring slightly downward and focused on the left-hand side of his face. His
body melts into shadow along the bottom, while the SteelBook's left-hand side offers an ominously dark red background. The film's title appears in
large
white lettering; "A Rob Zombie Film" appears above and "Collector's Edition" below. The rear panel is busier and less attractive, featuring a character
collage in a reverse "L" pattern, leaving the back panel's top-left side black and blank. Characters depicted include Michael, Deborah, Sam Loomis,
Laurie, and young Michael. Unobtrusive fine print appears at the bottom. The spine features the same text from the front running vertically down the
length. A model number and a Blu-ray disc logo appear at the bottom.
Inside, the two Blu-ray discs are situated on the right-hand side, staggered-stacked. The inner print features an image of Michael Myers from the hips
up on the
left-hand side with several other faces blending into the background. The right-hand side features additional character depictions which are difficult to
see in less than excellent light.

Halloween Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

Halloween's SteelBook was undoubtedly released to cannibalize some sales, by hook or by crook, from the Universal release, or at the very
least entice collectors to pick up this SteelBook with that film's SteelBook. As it is, this SteelBook isn't bad at all, offering a nice and
simple
front panel and darkly artistic rear and inner prints. The on-disc content is very good. Recommended, even at what is currently a $5 premium over the
old 2008 release.
