Halloween 4K Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Martin Liebman August 10, 2019
Universal and Best Buy have collaborated on another store exclusive SteelBook release for 2018's 'Halloween.' The disc and digital
content is identical to that found in the wide release and the previously released SteelBook. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below
for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

The SteelBook's front and rear panels are a matte black. They are slightly textured and not glossy; they will not show fingerprints from everyday use.
The front image depicts a hand-drawn Michael Myers, the masked face covering the left two-thirds or so of the SteelBook's front cover. Michael's face is
cut off just shy of the edge of his right eye (or the mask's eyehole, better said). It's entirely black and white and very well done. An artist signature
appears bottom right. The rear panel
features Michael's right leg running down the extreme far-left side. His right hand appears center, holding a large kitchen knife, the killer's preferred
weapon of choice. A condensed billing block (writers/director only) and some studio logos appear bottom center in white. A model number also
appears in white bottom right. The spine carries over the flat black appearance. The film's title appears in white block letters, center. A Universal logo
appears at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features Laurie Strode and Michael Meyers, appearing
on the left and right edges in profile, respectively, staring one another down. The images are black and white and only black blank space appears
behind them.
There's no color at all on the SteelBook, inside or out. It's very handsome and elegant in its simplicity.

Halloween 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

Why Best Buy and Universal returned to the drawing board just about seven months after the original SteelBook's release is anyone's guess, but this
one is, at least subjectively, far more attractive. Unless one plans on prominently displaying the case or is just a Halloween completist there's
no
practical reason to upgrade, but first-time buyers would be well-served by picking up this package.
